My Favorite Things

The new doggie door. Ellie figured it out right away, but Stogie has a little more learning to do.
My beloved mailbox. With a paint job and a little TLC, it'll be back to its original condition.
Bridgette and I packed away her and Sage's china. The next time it's moved...it'll be going to their houses.

Sunday

It's been a fast and furious weekend.
We went furniture shopping yesterday and had some luck with Bridgette's bedroom suit and bedding. It sounds like a lot of fun....shopping for a house full of new furniture. But it's actually quite the daunting task. We'll hit the stores again next week.
We went to church this morning and then helped with the youth sponsored spaghetti lunch. Reese stayed afterwards to practice with the band...he plays the piano in a Christian band...a band made up of a few of his friends. Bridgette spent some time with her friends and I clipped coupons and did laundry the rest of the afternoon.

Putting Down some Roots

As of this afternoon, I have an accepted contract on a house here in Sullivan.
My closing date is on or before April 30th, but we take possession next Friday. Yipee!
This was the first time I have gone through this process all by myself...and it was very empowering.
The house is small...three bedrooms with only one bath. I tell the kids it's just really cozy!
It also has a one car garage and a full, but unfinished basement...which Bridgette called dibs on. And of course there is a fenced in backyard for the puppies.
The stainless steel appliances are included, so I won't have to worry about purchasing those items when I go on my furniture shopping spree. There's also a standing mailbox out front, and I am going to have my maintenance man, Curt, take it out and replace it with the one my dad made me several years ago. I have hauled that sucker all over the country just waiting for the right place to put it.
Bridgette and Reese have been terrific...and in spite of things, Don has been, too.
Now comes the fun part....

MOVING.

Ugh.
The kids have recruited some of their friends to help, so it ought to be interesting.

This 'n That

It's been a long day...with kind of a Monday vibe.
But I did get a reprieve when my computer class instructor called twenty minutes before class tonight to cancel ...due to her health issues. I wanted to scream YES into the phone, but didn't figure it would be very appropriate. So I waited till she hung up. Then I screamed it.
The kids are doing well.
I mailed the verification information to WTAMU today for Sage's financial aid. We should have an idea of what we're looking at, as far as money, within a few weeks. It's exciting.
I can't wait to see pictures of Reagan's new earrings. Sounds like they had a fun filled trip to Dallas.
Reese competed in an ag competition today...Soils contest. Can't you imagine him...wearing rubber boots...stomping in a hole with a squirt bottle of water...making mud? We'll get the results in a day or two. He's good at dirt.
His friend Aaron competes in the poultry contest and they call that team the pecker checkers..hehehe.
Miss Bridgette and I, and her friend, Shelby, ate at Cracker Barrel...we also went and looked at houses and furniture.
In spite of everything, we are having fun and enjoying each other's company. When all of this passes ,we'll look back on this time with fond memories.

Be sure and wear green tomorrow!

Spring Break in Texas

We had so much fun being goofy.
Me and my firstborn, Sage. Can you believe she'll be graduating in a few months!

My three girls: Sage, Bridgette, and Reagan

Me and Reese.

Reagan and Ridge.

We spent a lot of time here, getting our fill of Mexican food.
My family: Ma, Gramps, the kids and the dogs.

Aren't they adorable!
