You might be a redneck...

While in the capital city today, I had to parallel park and use the parking meter. I am thirty-four years old and this is the first time in my life I've ever had to use a parking meter.
Sad, huh.

Shower Wars

For as long as I have known Nick, he's taken extremely long showers....45 minute showers, to be exact. Of course he uses up every drop of available hot water. It used to make me soooo mad, and since we have yet to find an effective method to shortening his shower time, we for the most part work around it. Bridgette bathes at night. Don takes a five minute shower and he doesn't care if the water is cold, so it doesn't matter when he showers.
Nick goes to work around 7:20am, so he gets in the shower around 6:15am. I usually take my bath at 8:00am...enough time for the hot water heater to replenish the supply following Nick's shower.
Anyway...this morning I had to leave early to drive to Jefferson City, so I wanted to take my bath before Nick got up. I set my alarm for 6am, but hit the snooze button a couple of times. I immediately jumped out of bed as I heard Nick start up his shower. I ran into mine and Don's bathroom and turned on the hot water to the huge jetted tub that I rarely use because it takes so much water to fill it. I let the hot water run until it ran out and the water ran cold.
As a result, I had plenty of hot water to bathe in, plus Nick took a much quicker shower than normal. I guess one solution to the dilemma is to beat him to the punch.
This could be fun.

Project Hotel

We just finished up round two of interviews for a manager and I think we have our guy. As soon as I can wrap up the details of the retirement/insurance benefit package, we will officially offer this guy the job.
As we enter the final stretch of the project, it's extremely intense and stressful. For the most part, Donnie stays out of the picture which puts a ton of pressure on me. Awhile back, I asked him what would happen if he hates the tile and the fixtures I picked out for the VIP suite. His reply was, "I just won't go in that room again."
Good enough. Now I make all kinds of decisions without him. You know...ask for forgiveness and not for permission.
Anyway...
The landscapers were there with dump trucks and a bobcat pulling out old bushes and doing all sorts of stuff. The workers are Hispanic, so it was nice to see some mexicans for a change. And especially some that were actually working!
I know, I know...I'm terrible. It's all lighthearted though.
Now I'm back home working on the liquor license.
The kids got out of school at noon today, so I have a house full. The apple dumplings (from PW blog)that Bridgette insisted on making since she had some at Nana's and said they were scrumptious, were a big hit, especially with the boys. And they are scrumptious. I'm glad they're eating them...or else I would be.
Now back to work before I get further distracted by the thought of food.

Highway Woman

Thus far, today seems to be a typical Tuesday. I'm at the office hammering away on project hotel.
It's Jaime Day, which is always nice, and since I had most of the surface housework done, she's able to do some deep cleaning like baseboards, walls, and windows...YEA.
On another subject...
The crew at the oil company has quite a bit of highway work lined up. Just once...for just one day...I want to be that girl wearing a hard hat and a safety vest holding the stop sign. They get paid like $30 dollars an hour...and I would do it for free. Donnie loves the work and I just wanted to be a part of the experience, too...just once.
But, no...Donnie won't let me. In fact, he stops his own traffic while working because he doesn't trust anyone else with every ones' lives.
I'm sure he thinks I would get him, myself, or all of us run over...and he probably doesn't want to have to babysit me...and honestly,I can see his point.
Looks like my career working on the highway is over...before it ever got started.
Fortunately, somebody around here has some sense!

Rain

It's raining at my house...
Is it raining at yours?

The downside of your kid owning a camera

Yep...this is what happens when your aspiring-photographer-of-a-son gets his hands on a camera. Lovely, aren't they?
Not only from the mouth of babes...but now from the camera of babes. They capture reality at its best!
I got these pictures from Reese's myspace where his captions on his pictures are hilarious. You should probably check it out and see the pictures of you!
On a serious note...you should really check out Reese's MySpace. He is super talented and has taken some terrific pictures...
of other subjects besides me, obviously.

Reese...keep up the good work.. And remember...your Momma loves you!!!!!!!!!

Watson Day

Bridgette and I got up this morning and went to Wal-mart to get groceries for our Sunday evening meal...chicken fried steak and gravy. Then we came home and resumed cleaning the house. Fun, fun. We had such a good time yesterday. Bridgette did some yard work outside while I did some laundry, and then we just hung out and watched movies all day. It was really relaxing and fun.
The guys are still at the farm with plans to plant corn today. Nick shot a turkey yesterday. Don sprayed round-up and plowed. Greg, Karl and Karen, Tom and Nancy, and Dean all came out to the house for a fish fry. I hate that I missed that one.
Skeeter slept at the foot of my bed for the last two nights. Don would freak if he knew he had been replaced by a little wiener dog for the weekend, so we just won't divulge that little tidbit!
I spoke with Gramps awhile ago. BB is feeling better...still not cured, but better. They're hoping to get some rain at Watson Farms, as the upcoming storm is supposed to be one of the worst storms of the year. Keep your fingers crossed.
I also talked to the kids. I miss those little boogers. Sage sounds all stopped up, but she says she feels good. Reese and Reagan were bantering as usual. They were getting ready for Watson Day....stopping to see Ma and then out to Watson Farms. I'll check back with them later today to catch up on all the fun.
Have a spectacular Sunday.

Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning!!!

Bridgette and I were able to sleep late this morning. Now were getting ready to go the grocery store and then come home and clean house.
Enjoy your day!

Educating the Chitlins

After reading an entry on my mother's blog and seeing the word 'newfangled'...Bridgette asked me what it meant. Although I have used the word...I didn't know the actual definition.
So here it is...
And BB....keep using those big words so we can learn the youngins real good!

new⋅fan⋅gled
/ˈnuˈŋgəld, -ˌŋ-, ˈnyu-/ [noo-fang-guhld, -fang-, nyoo-]
–adjective
1.
of a new kind or fashion: newfangled ideas.
2.
fond of or given to novelty. --Shak.

This n That

Miss Courtney's surgery went well. Gramps kept me informed on how she was doing. I'm sure she's in a lot of pain, but I knew she was OK when Bridgette told me she and Courtney had been texting each other.
Speaking of Bridgette...
She's learning how to weld in her Ag class at school. She's the only girl and it's funny to hear her talk about it. She refers to the "bead thingy" and "the stick thing". I guess those are the new generation welding terms.
Skeeter learned a new trick, too. He just started the leaping thing that Sally does. As a male...I guess he's a little behind. We still love him though.
I just wrapped up an intense day at work, and it's difficult for me to "leave it at work". I will attempt to distract myself over the weekend by cleaning my house and car and working outside.
But first, I'm looking forward to talking to the kids this evening and perhaps relaxing in front of the TV.
Bridgette just called my precious Skeeter a "big-headed freak".
OMMMMMMMMM.....
I'm now going to go defend his honor!

Weird Neighbors

Gramps....you would be proud. I did my so called good deed for the day.
Or did I?
One of our neighbors...a 12-year old girl, rang our doorbell. When I opened the door, I noticed she was in tears. She had been dropped off at her house...no one was home... and she realized she had forgotten her key. She was locked out of her house. With that discovery....she also realized she had left her cell phone in the grass at the softball park across town.
So....I took her across town to the park, where she found her cell phone in the grass...where she noticed she had missed a call from her mom...who informed her that the house had been unlocked the entire time.
And her mom wasn't pleased she had inconvenienced me.
But it was a great experience, nonetheless.
I told this impressionable girl not to worry about it. Between Don and I we had six kids and I understand that sometimes shit just happens and I didn't mind not one bit giving her a ride. She just smiled.
We are typically the "weird" neighbors who keep to ourselves and so it was nice to get an opportunity to chat with this young lady. Although it did crack me up...that upon noticing I was all dressed up...she asked, "so what exactly do you do?"
Hmmmm....
I didn't really have a concrete answer to that.
I guess we still are...and always will be...the "weird" neighbors.

Humbled

I was on the run all day today...
In heels...
And it was hot here in Missouri.
This morning, Donnie and I took separate vehicles to his uncle's funeral in Linn, MO (about an hour from here), because we were going separate directions afterwards. This was my first time to ever set foot in a Catholic Church and I was a little nervous...especially regarding Catholic protocol...something a Southern Baptist white girl from Texas knows nothing about. Donnie was very attentive, so I fared well...and actually enjoyed the experience.
Not exactly an appropriate reaction to a funeral, mind you.
I was fascinated by the kneeler things, as well as the ceremony aspect of the service. I also had the opportunity to meet many of the Schaefer's for the first time. Nice people...and I liked them immediately because they are commercial hog farmers. Can't go wrong there!
As soon as the funeral was over I jumped in my car and headed to St. James to sit in on the interviews for a hotel manager. I was really looking forward to this....I thought the experience would be akin to being a judge for American Idol tryouts...in that there would be lots of gubers come through and few talented people. I truly thought it would be entertaining.
I couldn't have been more wrong.
As a reflection of the current economic times, many of the applicants are highly educated, experienced, and articulate. A few had been laid off from their 'corporate America jobs' in sales and finance.
I was truly humbled.
It was almost 6:00pm when I left the hotel. Donnie is on his way to the farm with some materials for the carpenter. He's going to stay and turkey hunt through the weekend.
I talked to my mom on my way home. She sounds much better, so hopefully she's on her way to a speedy recovery.
Courtney's surgery is tomorrow, so be sure and pray for her.
And today is Max's 18th birthday. He has plans with his girlfriend and didn't want to do anything with us...a sure sign he's growing up.
When I arrived home a little while ago, I was thrilled to see that I had received a letter in the mail from Reagan...some of it was even in German. She's evidently learning German from Rosetta Stone.
I just love her letters.
It's been a long day...
still no flowers...
I think I'll go and put my feet up now.
Enjoy your evening!

Flowers and Fish

The guys went fishing at Meramec Springs this afternoon, while Bridgette and I went to the hotel first and then met up with the guys. Bridgette and I walked Skeeter while the guys cleaned fish.
When we got home, I fried fish. I'm getting better and better at the 'fresh kill and then eat' thing, although it's taken me awhile to adjust.
The dark purple and the white tulips from our yard made it into a vase as the centerpiece for the table. They are really pretty. I actually picked them because I planted the bulbs in a place that didn't seem too odd at the time, but when they came up it was like, "what was I thinking???". Heck...I planted sixty of those suckers, so after awhile I was running out of places to put them. Plus the landscaping guru is coming tomorrow and I didn't want him to think I was a total dork. I cut the tulips off at the ground and then moved the mulch around so you couldn't see the stems. I will dig up the actual bulbs and move them at a later date.
And we were so excited that we saw the first hummingbird come to the feeder today. Watching the hummingbirds is one of my favorite things.
Barbara emailed me that Jimmy sent all the girls at the office flowers today for Administrative Assistant's Day. I told her to tell him there must've been a mistake because I didn't receive mine. In fact, since I've gotten married the only flowers I get are ones that I pick out of my own yard!
Hint, hint, Donnie.

Hi-ho, hi-ho...off to work I go...

I'm working from home today, and although I enjoy the privacy and relaxed environment, it's difficult to stay focused. In between tasks I'm trying to get a load of laundry done....I'm on the phone while letting Skeeter out...I'm working on something when Donnie calls and wants to know what crude oil is doing on the market, etc. I keep flip-flopping between housework and business and it seems as though I'm not getting anything accomplished in either realm.
On a good note, it seems as though everyone is well here...at least no one's throwing up. I'm worried about my mother, though. I think she is on the verge of having pneumonia. Hopefully she'll go to the doctor.
Miss Courtney has her tonsils removed on Friday. She's been so sick and I hope this procedure does the trick.
Donnie's uncle died and the funeral is tomorrow. This will be my first Catholic funeral ever, so I'm in for a real treat.
Staying on task...I better get back to work.

Tuesday Night

Donnie is feeling much better...but Nick spent most of last night being Sir Pukes-A-Lot Jr.
Poor kid. He seems much better today though.
Greg came over for supper tonight. Jake and Max ate with us too. Donnie grilled chicken and we had corn on the cob and salad. Mmm...mmm, good.
Now we're full as ticks and ready to watch our Tuesday night TV shows.

How embarrassing!

Bridgette's friend, who is also her prom date next month, Jake, was coming over this afternoon to take Bridgette riding around in his brother's jeep. He's a nice guy and rather quiet. They were also going to the store to pick up some Grape-Nuts Flakes for me. How sweet.
Bridgette and I are in her room chatting when she gets a text from Jake saying that he's here. As she's walking out of her room, I tell her to be sure and not molest him...and don't let him molest her. She laughed and said she would try to keep her hands to herself. I laughed and told her to sit on her hands if she had to. We laughed and then did the 'love you-byes' and then she walked out.
And guess what????
Jake was standing right there.
Yep, he wasn't in the driveway...he was here in the house...and he heard the whole thing.
We both just about died right there.

It's not any fun...

I've been shopping all morning for tile, mirrors, vanities, and tub fixtures. And I cannot believe I'm actually saying it, but....I AM SICK TO DEATH OF SHOPPING!!!!

Home at Last!

We've been at the farm since Saturday, and I am so very glad to be home again. Donnie was sick off and on all weekend. I felt so bad for him. He's lost seven pounds since Saturday. Not a fun way to diet.
The highlight of the weekend, for me anyway, was mushroom hunting. It's a big deal around these parts, and I was obsessed. We only found one stinkin' mushroom, but it's early yet, so I'm not discouraged. Hopefully they will be out in full force next weekend.
The guys went turkey hunting this morning. Although they saw several birds, there weren't any shooters. They'll be heading back to the farm later on in the week. The weather was so wet and gloomy all weekend, but the upcoming forecast shows sunshine for the remainder of the week.
I received the kids report cards and picture proofs in the mail today. I was so proud of both. I am blessed to have smart and pretty kids.
I'll stop bragging for now....
Enjoy the rest of your Monday!

Ready for Bed

I just read the kids' blog and was saddened to hear that their puppy died. It's too late to call tonight, so I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow. I hope Reagan's games went well in spite of the misfortune with the puppy.
I talked to Sage this evening. She seemed to be having fun in Corpus Christi . She saw our cousin Whitney and her mom, Nancy at the convention. They are there for a Home Ec convention, although it's called something else nowadays.
Bridgette will be arriving home from the FFA convention later tonight, so I'm waiting up for her.
Donnie's feeling better and is now sleeping. Hopefully I will be sleeping soon, too.

BB's Blog

BB, your new blog background is so cute....when are you ever going to post again?

Sir Pukes-A-Lot

My poor Donnie has the stomach bug. Thankfully, he decided to forgo going to the farm today...thinking that perhaps he'll feel better tomorrow. We hear that it's going around and lasts for two days. Hopefully none of the rest of us get it.

Black Sheep

I find it interesting that the qualities in my personality that my family and friends in Texas viewed as negative....are the very same qualities that bring me success in my current life here in Missouri. Who would've thought??
Parts of my personality that Texans viewed as "over the top" or "flirty'"are considered "dynamic" and "engaging" here. My appearance in Texas was considered "too much" or "wild" is viewed in Missouri as "professional and full of presence". Being "out spoken and opinionated" in Texas is the equivalent to being "well spoken and direct" here. In Texas, wanting more out of life is considered greedy, and in Missouri it's considered ambition. I guess that goes to show that I am where I need to be. Perhaps west Texas was a little more conservative...or Missouri is more accepting. Either way, I'm glad I was able to find a place in this world where being me is okay.

My Day

Today, I went to the hotel with the mission of going through all of the resumes with Matt and setting up interviews for next week. It was interesting to say the least. And the actual interviews will be even better. I can hardly wait.
The most exciting thing of the day was seeing the landscaping plans. Amazing!!! The landscape designer is coming to the house next week to look at our landscaping and give us a bid. I hope it turns out just as good. This man is a genius. I learned something from him today...the high dollar pre-emergent I use...commercially named Preen...is granulated treflan. Who knew??? Probably everyone but me! HaHa.
It's pretty quiet here at the house. I haven't heard from Bridgette, but I don't think her contest is until tomorrow. I hope she's having fun.
I spoke to Reese earlier. He's at home alone and a little nervous about the weather. There are some tornado warnings issued for neighboring areas. He normally loves this kind of thing, I just think it makes him feel better when someone else is there. I told him to go to Nana's if it gets too bad. Reagan went to Plainview to pick up her puppy. I am looking forward to seeing pictures of it. I know Reagan was super excited.
Sage sent me a text that she needs my Harley leathers for a costume to wear to a banquet, so I will be mailing that to her tomorrow.
That's about it for my day...
I hope you enjoyed yours.

Tax Day

Don and I ran hard all day long. We didn't even have a chance to eat lunch. Most of it was hotel stuff, but we did manage to stop in at the seed company and pick up some seed for food plots at the farm. I was talking to the salesman about being from west Texas when he told me that some of the seed we were purchasing actually came from Lubbock. Some of their other seeds come from Plainview and Vega.
Small world.
Since we had such a long day, I was extra glad I got up early this morning and put a roast in the crock pot. It was nice to come home to a meal, plus today was 'Jamie Day' so we came home to a clean house, too.
I really need a wife.
Bridgette is hanging out with Jake. She goes to the FFA State convention tomorrow through Friday.
I got my 'urns for my ferns' today and Nick unloaded them and and helped me arrange them on either side of our front door. I think they look nice. I am too tired to mess with the ferns tonight. I will add that to tomorrow's to-do list.
I have to be in St. James early in the morning to set up interviews, meet with the landscaper and the chamber of commerce. Don is beginning to feel the pressure, so I'm trying to do as much as I can to pick up some slack.
Tonight I plan on doing a little more work...watching American Idol...talking to my babies.....and then perhaps we will turn in early.
That's probably wishful thinking....although it sure sounds good.

Yesterday

I spent yesterday morning doing laundry, laundry, laundry. Plus I snuck in a short nap prior to going to the hotel, where we had our weekly meeting with Mike and Matt. The highlight of my day was Sage sending me videos from her phone of Reese finishing his races at the track meet. I was thrilled to say the least....Reese did such a great job.

Easter in Texas

Bridgette and I finally made it home this evening. It's a tough drive no matter how you cut it. We're tired, but glad to be home.
Easter in Texas was bittersweet.
I enjoyed the kids soooo much. We spent two days in Lubbock buying Bridgette's prom dress and having it altered...it looks amazing on her..., and then just shopping and eating out. The kids were very grateful and seemed to appreciate their Easter gifts. Reese and Bridgette got clothes, Reagan got clothes and shoes, and Sage got a watch. Sage doesn't want much...she's content with what she has...and she isn't a big shopper, so I was thrilled to be able to buy her something she really wanted. It was fun shopping for all of them. Reagan was dancing to the music in Abercrombie and got busted by a cute sales guy. We laughed and laughed. And as usual...I completely enjoyed Reese and his humor.
The kids gave me a Yankee candle for Easter...which they know I love. And at a friend's birthday party a few weeks ago, Reagan made me the neatest ceramic heart with my initial on it and it hangs from a ribbon. I was so thrilled that she made it just for me.
Aaron and Sage came over to Ma's and Aaron played checkers with Ma. It was really cute and Ma ended up winning. We love Aaron.
I got to visit with Barbara Saturday afternoon. Reese and Reagan went with me and they hung out with Mandy while Barbara and I did some much needed catching up. After I left her, I called Jimmy and had a nice chat with him. I think a lot of Barbara and Jimmy, as they are both good people and extremely bright.
Easter Sunday was kind of neat. Ma allowed us to invite Sage and Bridgette's 'Grandpa Bill' for lunch. He was a very polite and gracious guest and it was nice to see the girls with him.
Sunday evening, the kids went to Nana's for supper. Bridgette's friend Marti went along with them and they had a good time there riding four wheelers and playing pool.
On a different note...one of the saddest things about the trip was how Ma's health and mind have deteriorated since I last saw her. The illness has brought out a meanness in Ma, making it difficult at best, for her caregivers and those around her. It's a very sad situation. Otherwise, I was happy to see Mom, Dad, and Courtney, and spend some time with the family. Skeeter had a ball playing with the other dachshunds, even though he was afraid of them at first...and it took him awhile to realize he was a dog. Now I think he misses them.
Now that I'm back home...vacation's over...time to hit it hard tomorrow!

Getting Ready

I just returned from the doctor where I had the stitches removed from my ear. It looks like Mike Tyson got ahold of me...but at least I'm done with the doctors.
Now I am working on getting packed to leave for Texas in the morning. Don loaded the light fixtures in my car last night, but I'm going to have to rearrange them because when I was out and about this morning I noticed they are rattling. That sound would have me and Bridgette totally crazy by the time we reached our destination if I don't do something.
We also hung a clothes rod in my car so we can hang our clothes instead of stuffing them in suitcases. Perhaps this will make packing somewhat easier and more convenient...and lessen the wrinkling of our clothes. We still gotta make room for Skeeter. One of these days we'll get this down to an art.
Bridgette and I are both looking forward to this weekend. In addition to seeing the family and celebrating Easter....we have to get a prom dress somewhere along the way. We'll be going ninety to nothing all weekend...but we're up for the task. I can't wait to see my babies.

My Chitlins

I talked to Reese last night. Bless his heart he was so sick. He had to go to school today to take the TAKS Test. Poor kid. I can't wait to get my hands on him. I also had a terrific chat with Sage. I miss her and can't wait to spend some time with her just one on one. And then there's Reagan. She is excited they picked out her dog at the humane society. She said it is a mutt...but that's always the best kind...right?
I'm off to take Bridgette to school. Have a great day!

P.S. When's BB ever going to post an entry on her blog again? I'm having withdrawals...

Bad Skeeter!

I took Skeeter to work with me this morning.
Duh....MISTAKE!!!!!
He growled at the workers and pooped once and peed twice within an hour's time. I guess he just wanted to christen the hotel by marking his spot on the finished tile...and not the concrete of course. Shame, Shame. If he did that at home he wouldn't be alive to even think about doing it somewhere else. It was like having a misbehaving child...I was so embarrassed. And of course, the construction crew got a kick out of me chasing this little dog around in my high heels.
He must have been excited because I've never seen him act like that. Still...that's no excuse.
Thankfully Donnie wasn't with me to witness the canine defiance, although I'm sure he'll hear all about it.

Enjoy your Monday...

It's snowing this morning, although it is too warm at 34 degrees to stick to the ground. Don and I did manage to bring in all my potted plants last night before it got too cold. I think the cold spell is supposed to last a day or two.
Ma tells me that Gramps' tomato plants sure are growing. That statement was a bonafied compliment from Ma if I've ever heard one! Too bad she'll probably never tell Gramps.
My mother taught me to never write anything down that you didn't want the whole world to see...this mainly applied to the era of notes in junior high, but it turned out to be an important life lesson.
I was using this blog as an avenue in which to share real life with those closest to me, when some, possibly due to their own past, misjudged my intentions and words, and thought ill of it. That is the reason I was forced to put my blog on a private setting. In order to keep it real, I must have the freedom to be honest about my life as well as my children's. I'm not missing a beat...just sharing with fewer.
It's Monday morning and I can't wait to see what's in store for today!

Happy Birthday, BB!

Today is my mother's birthday. She is 58 years old. I hope I age as well as my mother has...she really looks good. I was glad three of my children were there to celebrate with her, although Bridgette and I will be there by Thursday to celebrate Easter with the family.
Don and I spent the weekend at the farm. The house is progressing well and Don was able to get some farmwork done. He sprayed round-up on some grass where he intends to plant food plots.
We went out to eat with Tom and Nancy to celebrate their 28th wedding anniversary. I hope Donnie and I are married at least that long. I sure do like him.
On the way back, we stopped at Lowe's and picked out some more fixtures and things for the farmhouse.
Bridgette was happy to see us when we arrived home. I think she missed us. Skeeter was happy to be home, too, even though he was just perfect at the farm and enjoyed being able to roam. I was thrilled to be home and have a bath.
Now I'm doing the mountain of laundry from the weekend and trying to get ready for the week ahead. Enjoy the remainder of your Sunday.

Here we go again...

Bridgette has a date to the Jr./Sr. Prom on May 9th. I should know the drill by now since going through the whole prom thing with Sage more than once. I called the hair salon that we usually use to schedule Bridgette's hair appointment for that day...and they are already booked. After several phone calls, I did manage to secure her an appointment at another local salon...I just hope the stylist is capable.
Then there's the dress.
When we go to Texas next week, Bridgette's going to try on Sage's infamous high dollar prom dress. Even though the girls are built differently, this dress laces up in the back and is adjustable, so it will likely fit. I hope so. If that one doesn't work out, then I guess we'll go on the safari hunt for another dress. Fun, fun!

Reese Ray Ramsey won first place in both of his races at the track meet!!!!
And Bridgette's team qualified for State in dairy cow judging!!!
Great job, kids...I am so proud of you!

Today

Bridgette went to a dairy judging contest today in Rolla. As a team, they placed 9th out of 34. They will find out more results tomorrow. I am so glad Bridgette and Courtney are involved in their school's ag program. They're good little farm girls.
I talked to all my babies tonight. Sage was sick today and stayed home from school, although she said she feels much better this evening. Reese learned a new song on the keyboard, and Reagan was just her happy little self.
I started the day out by deciding to bake 'Deanna brownies' for the construction crew. What was I thinking???I had to run to the grocery store to get some more pecans, and on the way back I was pulled over by a motorcylce cop for speeding. He let me off the hook because I don't have a driving record here in Missouri, plus he noticed my accent and bumper sticker and he figured I was fairly new to the area. Whew...barely escaped a ticket there!
The brownies turned out well and I made a special batch for Nick, Max, and Bridgette so they wouldn't feel left out.
The weather was beautiful today, so Don and I took the mustang out for a spin. And no...I didn't drive. Being in that car always makes me feel a little reckless...but nonetheless it was fun.
My kids are teriffic...the guys were thrilled to get their brownies...we had a productive day...so all is well.
