It's Hard Work Having Fun

We spent the weekend at Truman Lake running trot lines. (Reese can tell you some interesting facts about the Harry S. Truman Reservoir.) Trot lining is a lot of work....but it's so much fun! We caught a ton of fish and enjoyed the weekend getaway.
Here's a few pictures:

Donnie with a bass.

This is a blue catfish.

These are flathead catfish...the best kind to eat. The larger one weighed 29 pounds.

My favorite part of trot-lining, besides catching big catfish... is catching the bait. This picture was taken moments before I fell out of the boat. I wasn't drinking, either. I was just standing in the boat fishing, lost my balance, and fell in the water. So embarrassing!

I couldn't get close enough to get a good shot of this bald eagle, but it was a beauty.

The knot I couldn't tie. Donnie tried showing me how to tie up the boat using this knot, and for the life of me I couldn't get it.I liked the shirt..
Happy Memorial Day!
