The Dress

Before Don and I married, I could not get a dry cleaners in Lubbock, Texas, to touch my mother's wedding dress. It had been almost forty years since my mother had worn it at her wedding, plus it was made by my great-grandmother...hence its tremendous sentimental value. Over the years it had discolored, so I did the best I could on cleaning and pressing it myself. I was pleasantly surprised when I found a cleaners here that would preserve it. They were able to clean and press it, as well as fix everything...including the torn hem and missing beads.
The heirloom dress is now put away and ready for a next generation bride.
